Carrier bags

I’m carrier bag free, and have been since Christmas. I’ve been an obsessive recycler for years, but recycling glass bottles really annoys me. What on earth is the point of smashing up a totally good glass bottle and remaking it as a glass bottle? It just can’t be economical to make one form new than to wash on used one, surely?

    Bottles are not remade into other bottles. They are ground up to form an aggregate used for road building, saving all that energy from being wasted on digging up rock, crushing it and trucking it. I’ve noticed the section of the M4 nearest London has taken on a new, velvety feel under the Dunlops … must be all that Chateau de Chassilier …

    Well that makes sense then. But I stand by my opinion that we need to re-use more stuff.
