Intended to be humourous?! I see this as utterly serious. Would changing it to ‘recommend him for a knighthood’ help, as that’s more to do with policy?

  2. Matt Kelland Says:

Seconded. Sir Stephen would be quite appropriate.

  3. Igal Says:

Stephen Fry’s rare brilliance is also appreciated beyond the boundaries of the UK. What about an International Stephen Fry Day celebrating general knowledge, wit and eloquence?

  4. Dan Says:

You could try registering him as an Icon of England instead http://www.icons.org.uk/

  5. David Says:

Outrageously shorted sighted ! Mr Fry is one of those people who make you truely proud to share the same red, faux-leathered passport cover as he

  6. SB Says:

I think he can be a rather pompous dullard.

  7. Brendan Says:

A knighthood / OBE / CBE, whatever, I agree with them all… as to a national treasure? well let’s face it, we already know Stephen is a national treasure, validation from the government won’t make a jot of difference, you can’t add value to something that’s already priceless!

  8. Johnnie Says:

try and submit it without the split infinitive. I’m sure a wordsmith like Mr Fry would appreciate it.

  9. Charlie Kiss Says:

He should stand for election, then we’d show ‘em.

Shame he can’t stand for the position of ‘Elected head of state’

He’s be so much better than the present one!

personally, I think mr fry is overrated
